In every film you have different sounds. Non-diegetic sounds are added to a lot of films and shows. The point of non-diegetic sounds is to add more to a scene of a film. Non-diegetic sounds are used to "heighten emotions". This type of sound is made to add to the scene, either making the scene have more emotion or just trying to make a mood out of it. The use of non-diegetic sound is to guide the audience's mood, emphasize them or "intensify suspense". Since non-diegetic sounds are made to help with the audience's moods and emotions, it will be a heavily effect used when it comes to romance films.
