#4 non-diegetic

Image
In every film you have different sounds. Non-diegetic sounds are added to a lot of films and shows. The point of non-diegetic sounds is to add more to a scene of a film. Non-diegetic sounds are used to "heighten emotions". This type of sound is made to add to the scene, either making the scene have more emotion or just trying to make a mood out of it. The use of non-diegetic sound is to guide the audience's mood, emphasize them or "intensify suspense".  Since non-diegetic sounds are made to help with the audience's moods and emotions, it will be a heavily effect used when it comes to romance films. When you have those soft romantic moments after the challenges your relationship goes through, a soft song will evoke emotions, those emotions being a sense of relief and happiness. Through the sad moments of seeing the main character/characters cry or reminisce on the things they once had a sad song will play, this makes the audience sad themselves, feeling with...

#3 Character Types

Image
In every genre you will find the same types of characters, some character types being more consistent in more genres of film than others. In romance films you will see the character types such as the leading man, leading woman, ex, and best friend. Films such as "How to lose a guy in 10 days" use these character types in their film. The leading woman is known for finding a romantic relationship. The leading woman in plenty of films is only worried about finding love. A lot of leading women are made to where they are so depending on a man where they want love. The leading man is known for being the love interest. The leading man is a lot of films does what he can to get his love interest. The leading male role can either be the love interest or just a part of a love triangle. The audience a lot of the time will use this to make their decision on whether they want this character to be the love interest or not.  The ex is known for bringing conflict. Most of the time the ex is ...

#2 Typical Conventions

Image
Genre conventions in films are "elements, themes, topics, tropes, characters, situations, and plot beats that are common in specific genres". These conventions are what make up a type of film. In romance films I specifically like how there are the soft songs in the back, lovers reuniting, confession. These things make up the soft romantic film that makes your heart feel warm. Conventions are things commonly used in films because it is what the audience enjoys best when it comes to these films. Conventions that the audience for these films enjoy best is the second chance, the happily ever after, and vulnerable moments. These conventions are what I want my film to have in order to have the audience full attention. Including what the audience will want is what I want my film to consist of.  When it comes to the second chance it will be when the woman decides whether she wants to try again with her old lover. Throughout the journey of her figuring out this decision you see her vu...

#1: Movie idea

Image
Relationships are around us in life, from family to friendships to partners. Nobody ever wants to have to go through the feeling of not having that person by your side anymore. When you see old memories it makes you wonder what you guys could've been. You reminisce on what you guys had and you just wish that you guys could try again with what you once had. This has been an event that makes me realize what went wrong and it is what inspired me to choose this idea.  A film I really like the Twilight Saga for the way it shows Bella's love life with Edward. The Twilight Saga showed how no matter what Bella always had feelings for Edward even when he left her. Edward loved Bella even when he knew what damage he could do to her. This love even when you can be separated is what I want my movie to represent. I want my movie to be able to represent two people who still have feelings for each other but don't know how to rekindle this old flame. The main character will be a woman who...
